Rotation at the Children's Dental Center in Inglewood

When
-Spring Quarter third year through Winter Quarter fourth year as assigned through the clinic director's office.
-Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
-8:45 AM to 5:00 PM (or until the last patient is finished)

How many days for the entire series of blocks
A minimum of 8 days. Any days beyond this will count toward your total requirement of 18 days in the clinical care of children.

Attendance
Your personal attendance log sheet must be signed for each half-day session. No credit will be given without a faculty signature. Only the attending faculty member or resident may sign.

Competency Exams
Your personal competency log sheet may be signed by the attending resident or faculty member. Remember to tell the supervising dentist that you intend to take a competency exam before you begin the procedure. You may take any of the competency exams during this rotation.

Schedule conflicts
-We are guests of the Children's Dental Center in Inglewood and therefore want to make every effort not to compromise their standards of care. They schedule patients according to how many students we tell them to expect.
-If you have a schedule conflict, you must find a replacement for yourself. You may trade any unit of time with a classmate. You may request another student to cover for you, in which case they will be credited with your time and you will have to arrange for a makeup. If you have an emergency, you will be allowed one half day of excused absence. You must arrange to make up this half day on your own.
-The Children's Dental Center has asked that I approve all trades and substitutions. Email me your request at least one week in advance at clarice@dent.ucla.edu.

Makeup days
Missed days should be made up in the quarter in which you missed them. Clinical participation at other approved sites may substitute for excused absences at the Inglewood Children's Dental Center:
